Story ideas
Here at The Gravel Road, we know every agriculturalist has stories, and we have the tools to help you preserve them through storytelling.

The Summer 2024 Issue of The Gravel Road explores transitions within agricultural life as a thematic focus. Through one of our collaborative techniques, we seek to include those personal memories, stories, and experiences that share moments of transition on the farm and ranch.
We hope you'll share farm and ranch origin stories with the broader agricultural community. We want to hear your insights into generational ownership transfers. We hope you'll introduce us to the people who shaped them.

We look forward to reading about how the farm and has evolved over the years and exploring notable events that happened on the land--personal, ecological, and everything in between. Whatever your role in agriculture, The Gravel Road welcomes you and your unique perspective. We want to peek into changing structures and meet evolving herds and fields through stories that represent the vitality of agriculture.

Interview: If you (or someone you know) has an agricultural story to tell, but would rather tell it amongst friends, let's meet. We'll collaborate to turn their tale into an article.

Profile: Tell us about a person that helped you (or someone you know) to make transitions in agriculture. Profiles introduce readers to people we should know across agricultural experiences, and agriculturalists with lessons everyone should remember. We'll follow up with questions and put pen to paper.

Snapshot: Together, we'll explore a day in your life, ordinary or extraordinary. Snapshots highlight the varied and diverse experiences within agriculture, and invite readers to peek down the gravel road--if only for a day.

Mail Bag: If you have a story to tell, questions to ask the readership, or feedback to offer, this is the way to do it. Write The Gravel Road a letter and include your questions, comments, and stories. An answer from the editorial team will follow, along with space for community input.
